The Bay of Fundy - Nature lovers Paradise
Serving as the gateway to Fundy National Park, Alma is the perfect home base for exploring all of our local attractions. The Alma Wharf is at the heart of the village where you can see the fishing boats come and go with the tide, unloading their fresh catches of lobster, scallops or halibut. Visitors and locals alike can be seen combing the beach and sandbars for shells, stones, beach glass, and fossils brought in by the Bay of Fundy’s crisp refreshing tide. Fundy National Park offers gorgeous hiking, biking and automotive trails through the forest or elegant walkways along cascading waterfalls, a nine hole golf course, and a salt water swimming pool. A short drive along the scenic route 915 will take you through Waterside and its beautiful beaches and marshes where you can view shorebirds and visit the local winery. Continue on to Cape Enrage Lighthouse to enjoy breathtaking bay views and cliffside rappelling. Take in the Bay of Fundy’s high and low tides at the Hopewell Rocks, home of the famous “flower pots”. Be sure to check the tide schedule to ensure you experience all that the Bay of Fundy has to offer.
